The whole idea of Mission trip started 1999 whilst I was attending my church at the time Victory Christian Centre VCC. I was a worker involved in "Hand of Compassion" department and I remember the church had a visit from Peter Paterious of “Jesus Alive Ministries” of South Africa. He had been invited to speak to us as a church regarding the work the charity was doing in Rwanda following the genocide and also in South Africa.
The leaders of the group including Dele Oyekanmi (Destiny builders Ministry) had been on mission in the past and was very encouraging for us to all go as a group. I cannot forget that day because when Peter started speaking I was outside busy with something and he showed a video of what his ministry Jesus Alive was doing and I had a pull to go and see it yet I felt if I go in it will be a life changing experience so I was also very scared to go in and watch. However the video pull was so much that I found my self at the back of the church totally engrossed.
I did not go with the first group because my Sister was getting married and I was the bride’s maid, so I had to wait one whole year which felt like a life time. As soon as the second trip was announced even before, I was the first to sign up. The trip was to Joburg and Rwanda, I loved every bit of it. It was as if this is what I was made for. I got into it excited all the way.
When we landed in Kigali, I remember the city was dark and smelling it was smelling of stale blood, we even found a dead body on the floor. I was not shaken because coming from Nigeria, now and again we saw this. What I did not expect to see was the bullet holes on the walls and look of hopelessness on people’s faces. There was so much hopelessness that was sad. They just seemed to roam the streets with no aim and you wondered how did this country get this way.
After the first trip a few of us knew that we needed to come back and help make a difference and since then I have never looked back. Rwanda has made a huge difference to my life.
I have also been to Burundi, Uganda, Ethiopia and Nairobi but the continuous trip has been Rwanda. My dream and prayer is to visit and expand to more countries and to see what God has done in Rwanda in other countries.
The main thing I realise when going on a mission trip is to be open minded and be a team player. Also be prepared for an adventure, if you are any of these then you will enjoy the trips
My experience in the past has been to help either in orphanages, helping on what ever is needed to be done for example helping to clean and distribute clothes. In some cases help to solve administrative issues, no skill is wasted. It also requires you to be able to listen a lot and encourage people. The mere fact that you are going on the visit is first and foremost an encouragement.
Other past activities include church ministration, helping in youth camps to make summer fun. Sharing and encouraging women and men in income generation projects.
Plan is to have two trips a year, on average the trips are usually about 4-10days depending on the focus of the trip. The average cost is about £1700 again depending on time of the year and length of stay. Contact us on the contact page to register your interest.

The idea behind Prophetic release to homeless was based on the word from Ezekiel can this dry bones
ROAM does not aim to feed the homeless as others do, although we sometimes do this during Christmas working with Agape prayer fellowship. The focus of ROAM is to speak life to people on the street. prophetic words release people into their destiny, the mandate of ROAM is to release what God has called to the life of the people sleeping on the streets. We want to be a voice of the LORD to say yes this dry bones can live. As such ROAM goes out to the people and engage them with tea or coffee and some snacks, following this we engage in conversation and speak prophetically into their lives, we sometimes pray healing over them and in some cases just share the love of God. We visit different locations not just one place.
The outings are very rewarding, we encounter different people, no two events are the same. From singing happy birthday to someone on the street and making them smile, to searching for warm outfit for another person, also to praying healing prayer, is what we do and experience when we go out. Every single outing is awesome
If you are free and love to hang out and encourage people then you are more than welcomed, please contact us and be truly transformed
In evangelism, the idea is to pray before hand and get word of knowledge for whom God wants us to minister to and then look for these people and release the word to them and in so doing bring them to the love of Christ. This technique of evangelism is what they call the treasure hunt and it has resulted in so many being blessed. Once a month so far ROAM goes out in two's to minster this love and on each outing God has been very faithful.
One of the mandate of ROAM is to work with other Ministries and one of such is "Transformed by Light" led by Simone Cable. This ministry has been a huge blessing, the aim is to reach out to those in spiritual darkness especially those in new age, spiritualist and in some cases witch craft events. With this ministry we meet for two major events although it can be more, the ministry get a stall at this events and we come as light to speak spiritually to those seeking spiritual encounter, we give them the God encounter. The events are very intense yet amazing because we see so many lives touched and in some cases not. There are so amazing testimonies that come from this. I will encourage anyway who wants to be challenge their spiritual gifting to get on board because you are put on the spot time and time again and you just see how God is working through you.
What to expect is the use of your spiritual gifting in a way you cant imagine. You will prophecy, give word of knowledge and wisdom, also dream interpretation and spiritual counselling. You will see God move through you and through others.
Getting involved with the Prophetic evangelism is simple just join in on one of the outings. If you want to join in the Transformed by light events their is training given but they will love to have you let me know and I will introduce you to Simone.
